INTRODUCTION

Overall, there are two standard methods of defining the richest countries in the world. One takes into account the economies that are the largest, as measured by total gross domestic product (GDP). However, the most commonly accepted definition of the wealthiest countries is to determine how rich the average resident of a country is. For this reason, the best method is to use GDP data per capita.

Moreover, using a PPP (purchasing power parity) basis is arguably more useful when comparing generalized differences in living standards on the whole between nations. This is because PPP takes into account the relative cost of living and the inflation rates of the countries, rather than using just exchange rates, which may distort the real differences in income. This is the measure most economists prefer when looking at per-capita wealth and when comparing economic strength between countries and living conditions or use of resources across countries.

Values are expressed in current international dollars, reflecting a single year's (the current year) currency exchange rates and PPP adjustments.

Windows Key+E

The best part about shortcut keys is letting your keyboard do half the work. This is a perfect example: This shortcut allows you to open Windows Explorer with one quick keystroke.

Windows Key+M

This is the shortcut to keep in mind when you are at work doing anything but working—it allows you to minimize all of your open windows, leaving just the desktop left exposed. To restore the windows, hit Windows key+Shift+M. Another quick way to do this is Windows key+D, which shows your desktop; to restore, just repeat the same keystroke. This is a handy shortcut to have around the next time your boss is wandering through the office.

Alt+Tab

This allows you to easily scroll through all the windows you have open. If you're working in Word and referring to something in Explorer, for example, you can toggle back and forth between the two programs. You can also use this to switch between windows in the same program, making multitasking a breeze. Very similar is Windows key+Tab: In XP, it lets you scroll the items on the taskbar, and in Vista, it starts Flip 3D for a fun graphical spin on the same idea.

Alt+F4

This shortcut is a quick way to close a window in any program. Alt+Spacebar+C (which requires less stretching, but more keys) and Ctrl+W do the same thing. Any of the ways will allow you to close a window without using your mouse to hit the X in the upper-right corner.

Ctrl+Arrow Keys

In Microsoft Word, the left and right arrows allow you to move the cursor to the beginning of the previous word or the next word; the up and down arrows will do the same with paragraphs. This is very helpful when editing a document or scanning for any reason.

Shift+Delete

If you want to delete a file—and you don't want to deal with it later in the Recycle Bin—this is the way to go. Just be absolutely sure that this is a file you won't want back!

Hold Shift While Inserting a CD

Have you ever wanted to insert a CD and not use it right away? This shortcut allows you to bypass Autorun when inserting a CD so you can control exactly when you will use a CD you've inserted.

Ctrl+Drag

There are many ways to copy a file, but this just might be the easiest. All you have to do is click on the file, hold, and drag it into its desired location. This works the same as another handy shortcut, Ctrl+C.

Windows Key+U+U

Quickly shut down Windows by hitting the Windows key (don't hold it down), hitting U to reach the shutdown menu, and then hitting U again to shut down.

Windows Key+Pause

Need a quick way to get to the Systems Properties menu without too much thought? Just press these two keys and you'll be brought right to it.

Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Y

Undo an action by hitting Ctrl+Z; if you change your mind, Ctrl+Y will redo the undo.

Shift + Arrow Keys

Holding shift and pressing one of the arrow keys will highlight text in Word (or a group of Excel cells) without the mouse, selecting in the direction the arrow points.

A large part of Bollywood is about conventional song and dance sequences, running around the trees and mostly 20% is narrative. Justifiably so for the huge emotional quotient that we as Indians proudly base our lives upon. Bollywood movies include all romance, heavy emotions, comedy, action and suspense in one complete package. In short, we surely find solace in larger than life protagonists, where script plays the second fiddle. Hollywood rarely follows the trend of relying on music heavily, except for a few movies like Moulin Rouge. Surely, it involves considerable amount of greenbacks to fund this art work. On the other hand, Bollywood bases itself more on family oriented cinema that is high on drama and emotions. Of late, various projects namely Krrish, and Ra 1 have tried to break the stereotype, but it will take more time to establish itself in the genre.

As already established, budget allocated to a movie under big banner is huge in terms of fee for actors and other miscellaneous costs. It plays a major role in designing the theme and exhibition of expressions in a movie. It doesn’t take much for a Hollywood directorto afford few liberties here and there, but in India, barring major banners most of the Hindi film directors have to plan innumerably before execution to reduce wasteful expenses. Although, Bollywood is fast catching on the inclination and with the recent 100 crore box-office trends, the amount of money pumped in has risen exponentially in the past decade or such.

7. Popularity of Cinemas:

Celluloid always has an upper hand in entertainment sector be it in West or here in India. We can safely say Bollywood rules since it has the maximum popularity even in the west, Indian superstar and movies are a big hit even in the west as NRI audiences give lots of revenue to Indian cinema. Artists such as Amitabh Bachhan, Aishwarya Rai, Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan and others have become household names in the west too. Bollywood’s flourishing prominence in the world movie industry is surely a threat to Hollywood’s influence. Considering the growing audience for Bollywood, even Hollywood has to release its movies in Hindi to tap on profits in the Indian markets.

It’s not just about a handful of actors and actresses who steal the show in Hollywood. Writers, lyricists, singers, screenplay writers, choreographers, cameramen and cinematographers – everyone in a team producing a Hollywood movie is an expert. In Bollywood, producers (in most cases) want popular actors/actresses; few item numbers and spicy stories to make it big. The recent fad is based on remake of blockbusters from the south India. Fine actors, it seems, don’t get many chances in Bollywood – although the leaning is set to change and already is, with introduction of actors and directors like Irrfan Khan, K K Menon, Tigmanshu Dhuliya, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee and many others.

5. Super Hit Movies:

It’s commonly said that Bollywood makes movie stars and Hollywood makes star movies. This is what explains the fact that Hollywood makes matchless movies in comparison to Bollywood. Hollywood directors focus on one project at a time and take enough time to put together a perfect team unlike their Bollywood counterparts. This can also be reasoned out for the amount of money involved in one project for a Hollywood venture. While Hindi movies at maximum are budgeted around Rs 100 crore, it’s almost 4 times more cost that is incurred on a Hollywood sci-fi flick.

4. Restrictive Approach:

In Hollywood actors can be from any part of the region as far as they fit a role. On the contrary Indian directors still feel more comfortable with local actors and seldom look out for foreign actors. Yes, in the recent past artists from other countries have been invited, but only for guest appearances.

3. Technical Aspect:

Bollywood in these recent years has become more advanced than before, but coming to Hollywood no one can square the level of technical support it provides to its cinema. Movies like the Avengers, Independence Day, War of the worlds, World War Z the kind of technical effects used in these kinds of movies are out of the world and have made the audience to jump from their seats. Bollywood is yet to give us a marvel like that.

2. Global reach:

Although, Hollywood has a wider reach, it caters to the global audience; Bollywood is still in the initial stages of making its presence felt the world over. With the change in script writing, direction and cinematographic style, a change has been witnessed in the audience for Bollywood movies. It has created a deep impact on audience throughout East Asia with movies such as 3 Idiots. Hollywood action is now becoming redundant, and people globally are demanding for family oriented stories such as produced by Bollywood.

1. Revenue Generation:

Hollywood does not rely on ticket sales like its Indian counterpart, Bollywood. It primarily derives income from various other channels besides ticket sales such as TV networks, magazines, and home videos. Bollywood largely depends on the sale of tickets at various cinema halls across the country and other parts of the world. Of late, the trend to make bucks through selling movie rights and music rights to broadcasters has picked up stream. Still, it is a long way to fill the gap between the outreach of Bollywood, but we’re getting there.

The latest version of Windows Phone isn’t called Windows Phone at all, it’s called Windows 10 Mobile, because rather than being a bespoke mobile operating system it’s a version of the full fat Windows 10 that Microsoft is shipping on desktops.

That makes it powerful, versatile and unique from its mobile competition, the fiercest of which is Android Marshmallow.

The latest version of Google’s smartphone OS is taking its time to arrive on handsets, but it’s worth the wait, thanks to smart features and a whole lot of polish. If you’re in the enviable position of buying a new phone and aren’t sure which OS to go for here’s what you need to know.

The Look

There was a time when Android wasn’t much to look at and it’s still got a fairly understated design, but it’s clean and attractive. It uses the Material Design language from Android Lollipop, but with a few tweaks, with clear icons, so you always know exactly what you’re about to tap on and unity of design, where everything just works together.

While it looks good, Android 6.0 Marshmallow operates in much the same way as Android and even iOS have for years. Apps are arranged in a grid of icons on your home screen and you can put favourites in a bar at the bottom which stays the same across all home screens. It’s an overly familiar design, but it does make it instantly intuitive.

The open nature of Android also means you can customise it to your liking, with widgets, which add clocks, calendars, weather information and more to your home screen. Or you can even download a whole new skin, to completely change the look.

Windows 10 Mobile is different. It’s far busier and far more colourful. It still has a grid of apps, but they’re Live Tiles, rather than icons. This has two effects, for one they look less distinctive than Android’s, but for another they can display changing information or images. For example, the photo tile might show thumbnails of your latest shots, a bit like mini widgets.

It doesn’t look as refined as Android and it’s not as customisable, but it is more distinctive, as it looks almost nothing like Google or Apple’s mobile operating systems. It’s also powerful as you’ll see below.

The Apps

This is a major problem point for Windows 10 Mobile as just like previous versions of Windows Phone there simply aren’t enough apps.

It’s a vicious circle because the lack of apps contributes to there being a relatively small user base, which in turn means developers lack incentive to make more apps. It’s not all bad news though, as there are apps for most of the big services you’d expect to find, such as Facebook, as well as numerous more niche apps, there just aren’t as many as the competition.

In a bid to fix this Microsoft is making it easy for developers to port their iOS apps to Windows 10 Mobile, so we may soon see an influx, but it’s unlikely to catch up with Android 6.0, which has over 1.6 million apps available, with more being added all the time.

Many of these are low quality, but it does mean that you can find an app for just about anything you’d ever want.

The Features

Many of the core features of Android and Windows Phone are very similar. For example, swiping down from the top of the screen on either OS will show you any notifications and give you access to quick settings.

Both operating systems also have a deeper settings screen and an app drawer, to hide away any apps that you don’t want to see front and centre on your home screen.

They do have some big, distinctive features though. On the Android front there’s Android Pay, which allows you to make contactless payments on your phone. This hasn’t arrived in the UK yet, but expect to see it soon.

On Windows 10 Mobile you get Continuum, which allows supported devices to connect to a screen and provide an interface similar to what you’d find on a Windows 10 PC, so it’s great for serious productivity.

Google Now vs Cortana

Of course the biggest features of these two operating systems are arguably Google Now on the Android side and Cortana over on Windows 10 Mobile.

These two voice-activated assistants both aim to save you time and let you use your phone hands-free, by talking to it instead. You can get internet search results, weather forecasts and system interactions through them, such as launching apps.

Cortana has more personality, with a more human voice and more natural responses, but currently it’s not quite as powerful as Google Now, especially with the Now on Tap feature added in Android Marshmallow.

Now on Tap lets you access information on whatever’s happening on your screen with a single tap and it even digs into conversations. That could mean for example pulling up film times at nearby cinemas if you’re messaging about a new movie.

It’s smart enough to take a good stab at what you’d want to know, but you can always still use a voice query for more specific requests.

Windows 10 Mobile is the most powerful version of Windows Phone yet. It’s also a distinctive OS, but for the time being it lacks the polish of Android and has far fewer apps.

With its Continuum feature it’s better for mobile workers, but Android is arguably still the better all-rounder and certainly better for the average user.

In some ways, thanks to its customisation options and open source nature, it’s also better for more techy users, but Windows 10 Mobile is a highly accomplished mobile OS in its own right and we expect Microsoft will smooth away the rough edges over time.
